Snooker

Barnt Green Social have competed in the Bromsgrove & District Billiards and Snooker League for over 50 years. The League itself was founded in 1919.

League matches take place every Tuesday evening, where presently, we field three teams which compete in the First & Second Division of the Leagues. In the past we have had as many as four teams competing in both the First and Second Divisions.

With the Snooker season 2018 – 2019  finished here are the captains reports :

A Team
The “A” team have had another Fantastic  season. We WON the first division in season 2018-2019. We WON the h-cap Cup and we WON the League Cup. Personal achievements were Dave Brown having the highest break in the first division a great knock of 119.  Charle Powers also had the most wins…. only loosing one match ! !

B Team
The “B” team have had a good season finishing 4th in the second division in 2018-2019 season. One new player have been signed up for the new season 2018-2019, so we full of hope & optimism for the new season ! !

Fred Rollins…. “B” team captain.

C Team

The “C” team finished third in the first division last year 2018-2019…. we are looking forward to the start of the new 2019-2020 snooker season. We have one new player signed up & we are all looking forward to the new season.

Barnt Green have won the First Division on eight occasions within the last 50 years and one of our current members still holds the League’s highest break. This is Stuart Watson,  who had a 137 break playing for Barnt Green against Bromsgrove Labour Club on the 7th October 2003. The Club has also had many successes in the Singles / Doubles and Triples competitions over the last 50 years.

The club has been host to many Inter League matches over the years, as we are
recognised as having some of the best Snooker Tables in the area. Barnt Green also holds Annual internal Snooker competitions. The individual eventsare: The Roger Collins Memorial Trophy, the Snooker Singles, the Veterans, the Doubles and the H-cap Singles.

Other Snooker achievements at the Club include previous member Mr Mark Sutton’s Maximum Break 147 on table one on the 24th March 2006!
